Morghan E. Bosch, Ed.D., is a local children’s book author, educator, and advocate whose work centers on inclusion, neurodiversity, and belonging. She is the creator of the Embracing Differences children’s book series, written to help young readers understand, appreciate, and celebrate individual differences. The guiding message throughout the series—“Together, we can be different and still belong”—reflects both her professional expertise and personal passion for inclusive education.
The first book in the series, Being Charley: Embracing Differences, introduces readers to Charley, a Canada goose who has autism. Through Charley’s experiences with sensory sensitivities to sound, temperature, and light, the story gently and thoughtfully introduces autism and neurodiversity in a way that is accessible, relatable, and heartwarming. Themes of acceptance, kindness, family, friendship, inclusion, and diversity are woven throughout the story, encouraging children to celebrate differences rather than fear them.
The second book, Being Gus: Embracing Differences, continues the journey by shifting the focus to Gus, Charley’s oldest sibling and big brother. This story highlights the sibling perspective—showing Gus as a caregiver, confidante, and advocate—while celebrating the unique and powerful bond between siblings. Together, the books create meaningful opportunities for families and educators to spark conversations about empathy, understanding, and belonging.
Dr. Bosch brings a deep and authentic professional background to her storytelling. She currently serves as a principal and director of education at a psychiatric residential treatment facility for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Previously, she was an associate professor of special education and director of education at Barton College in North Carolina, where she taught for ten years. She earned her doctorate in special education with an emphasis in autism from Regent University in Virginia.
In addition to her children’s books, Dr. Bosch has co-authored a professional book for first-year teachers focused on understanding the classroom teacher’s role in supporting students with special needs. She has published several articles in national journals, conducted numerous workshops, and presented at conferences across the country on topics related to autism and special education. Earlier in her career, she spent nine years as a special education teacher in Virginia public schools.
Dr. Bosch’s Embracing Differences series is available on Amazon and has already received significant attention. Through her books, speaking engagements, and community events, she is committed to raising awareness, promoting inclusion, and helping children—and the adults who support them—see that differences make us stronger, especially when we belong together.
