Join us for a vibrant celebration of our precious wetlands at The Wetlands Centre Cockburn! This event showcases the work the centre and other environmental and community organisations do.
Featuring activities, storytelling, and environmental appreciation. Discover the vital role wetlands play in supporting biodiversity, sustaining wildlife, and mitigating climate change.

Price: FREE – This is a free, family-friendly event open to all members of the community. Registration encouraged but not mandatory, walk-ins welcome!
*While the overall event is free and there will be many free activities, individual stalls and groups may have merchandise/ experiences that incur a charge.

This event is designed for all ages, with activities suited to children, families, and adults.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS: DISCOVER, EXPLORE, AND CELEBRATE WETLANDS
• Wildlife Encounters: Interact with some of the creatures that call our wetlands home with hands-on experiences brought to you by WA Wildlife.
• Storytelling & Cultural Activities: Immerse yourself in local knowledge and enjoy a walk to the wetlands.
• Hands on Activities: Engage with a range of activities inlcuding crafts, seed bomb making and exploring the world of macroinvertebrates (water bugs)
• Volunteering: Assist Conservation Volunteers Australia with some of their landcare at their revege site in the bushland.
• Environmental and community engagement: Interact with a variety of local environmental and community groups and learn about what they have to offer and how you can be involved.
• Observe and Participate: Watch displays of various forms of Internation Arts Tai Chi and have the oppurtunity to particpate in some sessions.
• Buy local native plants: The Wetlands Centres Conservation Nursery will be open for you to purchase some locally grown native plants.
WHAT TO BRING:
* Water bottle
* Comfortable clothing and closed-in shoes
* Sun protection (hat, sunscreen)
* A reusable cup or bottle (to support our zero-waste efforts)
