BIO

A pioneer in the field of spiritual emergence, Paul Levy is an author, creative artist and wounded healer in private practice, assisting others who are also awakening to the dreamlike nature of reality. After a profound personal trauma in 1981, he experienced a life-changing spiritual awakening that in its beginning stages led to multiple psychiatric hospitalizations, during which he was continually misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder. Recognizing that his experience was a mystical, shamanic initiation rather than a psychotic break, Paul freed himself from the psychiatric system and sought spiritual guidance, eventually becoming a certified art teacher. He later founded the Awakening in the Dream Community in Portland, Oregon. Paul is known for his work on wetiko, a mind-virus that is the source of the collective psychosis that our species is acting out all over the world and for his investigations into the intersection of dreams, quantum physics and spirituality. He is the author of three books on the wetiko mind-virus: Dispelling Wetiko (2013), Wetiko (2021) and Undreaming Wetiko (2023). He has also authored The Madness of George W. Bush (2006), a personal memoir Awakened by Darkness (2015), and the recently released The Quantum Revelation: Awakening to the Dreamlike Nature of Reality (2024). Deeply steeped in the work of C. G. Jung, Paul has been a Tibetan Buddhist practitioner for over 40 years, having studied under some of Tibet’s and Burma’s greatest spiritual masters. Paul served as the coordinator of the Portland chapter of the PadmaSambhava Buddhist Center for over two decades.
