Wet Felted Bag on a Ball Workshop with Needlessly Felted📍 Ditzy Rose Makery, Tattenhall
Spend a creative afternoon at Ditzy Rose Makery with Vicky Pulman of Needlessly Felted, exploring the sculptural side of wet felting. Using the resist method and working over a ball, you’ll learn to build up layers of fibre, roll, shape, and coax them into a seamless felted bag – strong, practical, and completely unique.
We’ll begin with a foundation of Perendale wool batts, chosen for their softness, bounce, and ability to felt firmly into shape. From there, you’ll explore a palette of rich textures and fibres to make your design stand out:
● Artisan and hand-dyed yarns for bold lines and expressive marks
● Bouclé yarns and neps for loops, bumps, and tactile details
● Silks for lustrous highlights and flowing movement
● Wool locks for organic textures and sculptural depth
Through rolling, water, soap, and a touch of energy, your bag will take shape as a one-of-a-kind piece of functional fibre art.
You’ll learn how to work with different fibres, how to build strength into your form, and how to finish your bag so it lasts. A small kit of hardware is included for you to add at home once your bag is fully dried, depending on your chosen style.
All materials and step-by-step guidance are provided, and no felting experience is needed – just bring curiosity and a love of making.
