On 16 November, a festival of reloved, rented, repaired and reused fashion is coming to the western suburbs to give style a sustainable makeover. The Western Metropolitan Regional Council (WMRC)’s Textile Trail will bring together textile workshops and events with local fashion retailers, op shops, pre-loved boutiques and dress hire services so you can repair, share, reuse and re-love your clothes – and all while supporting local businesses.
You’ll learn to get the most out of textile items you already own and love with workshops on mending, upcycling and DIY across the festival.
Events include making a water-resistant tote bag out of an old vinyl banner, upcycling old denim jackets using art, clothing swaps and even a walking tour of the best spots to source high-quality preloved items in Subiaco.
You can get your map stamped at the following locations along the trail – including Good Sammys, Salvos and The Secret Closet in Subi – for a chance to win some prizes.
