In this class students will learn how to carve and tool a traditional western floral pattern into a blank piece of leather. Students will be instructed on how to prepare the leather for tooling, how to transfer the design onto the leather, how to properly use each of the basic 7 tools (and maybe a few others) to bring the design to life, and how to apply a traditional antique finish to the finished carving to bring out all the details of the design. Throughout these steps, students will also learn the traditional elements that make up a western floral carving, and a brief history of regional western floral carving styles. Don't miss out!
