It all starts on Friday, Jan. 17 at L’Auberge Hotel Casino Resort with the 31st annual MLK Prayer Breakfast. This year we honor six Unsung Hero's, Captain James Steward, Roishetta Sibley Ozane, Ken Frances, Chad Miller, and Stephanie Chretien.
Sunday Jan. 19th, the MLK Gospel Extravaganza will be held at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, located at 119 n. Bank Street. Expect an evening of gospel, spoken word gospel music and praise dancing and more.
Everything wraps up Monday, Jan. 20 at the Lake Charles Civic Center with the annual MLK Family Day with the 2025 parade rolling through downtown Lake Charles. The family day will be the place for family to be. The kids Zone will be filled with activities to keep the kids busy and entertained.
The annual gumbo cook-off, will start at Noon. Live entertainment from Keyun & the Zydeco Masters, of Houston Texas will head the event and singer, Kim McCoy, along with local artist and performers will be sure to round out the day!
