The widely acclaimed Western Australian Dragon Boat Festival returns to Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour on Sunday 27 March 2022! Amidst the majestic setting of Western Australia's iconic Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour, the Western Australian Dragon Boat Festival will be a spectacular celebration of world class dragon boat athletes led by Dragon Boating WA in an atmosphere of pageantry and colour, high octane energy and centuries old Chinese culture and tradition. The air will be abuzz with excitement and electrifying performances by highly skilled Dragon and Lion Dancers, led by 7th Generation Pak Mei Master Ken Wu from the Cheung Bing Lam lineage, who will mesmerize and dazzle with their artistry! In a world first, WA’s very own James Webb and Wadumbah Dance Group will Welcome the Dragon into the harbour in a specially created festival event! Enjoy the match races from the award-winning Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour’s boardwalks, jetties and world class hospitality venues and attractions, and be enthralled as the athletes power through the waters to an exciting finish! The beating of the boat drums, the clash of gongs, and the cheers of the spectators will ensure an unforgettable experience! The festival is a free entry, family friendly inclusive event.
