THURSDAY night classes have changed structure
In order to really push my Intermediate and Advanced students to greater heights I have adjusted the timing.
The beginner portion of the class is now a relaxed 1 hour and 15 minutes. The Intermediate Advanced students then have a jam-packed 1 hour and 15 minutes.
The best thing is that the material covered is the same on both Wednesday and Thursday nights so if you need to miss one class you can instead go to the other night in that week. Or if you miss a class you can make it up on another week within the same course.

Over this 8 week course Elliott will patiently guide you towards the ability to play a powerfully healing rhythmic composition.
By the end of this course you’ll know the introduction, the various accompaniment parts, breaks and calls, the song and we’ll even cover some solo phrases.
With full respect to the traditional owners of this music, the people of Africa, Elliott will talk about the history of the djembe as well as the complexities and techniques of playing the djembe.
This course is super exciting as it culminates in a performance with Zormiwasa at the Little Big Bang West End on Saturday the 29th of June. We will be joined by legendary djembe player Bangoura Ke for the show!
You may have danced to Elliott’s playing before at Island Vibe, Woodford, Earth Frequency Festival, or even at the Fortitude Hall!
He leads the African rhythm ensemble Spankinhide and performs regularly with the Palm Wine Ambassadors, Bobby Alu, Mood Swing and Chevy Bass, amongst a bunch of other groups.
Both courses are 100% open to complete beginners AND also perfect for experienced players as Elliott can teach multiple levels in the one session.
There are plenty of drums to hire if you don’t have your own.
Elliott also sells drums and you can even do a drum making workshop.

$225 for the 8 week course or $265 including drum hire
$35 casual class or $40 with drum hire
Please note, casual attendance is fine for the first 3 weeks but then the group will have progressed too far unless you have previously attained good traditional technique.
