We are excited to be able to bring West Coast Swing classes to the area. We are Jive Frenzy and have a brand called HYBRID which has been offering WCS monthly workshops and freestyles for the last two years. We are now launching GRAVITY West Coast Swing Classes twice a month with a rotation of teachers. Richard James has been partner dancing socially for over 20 years and teaching WCS for over 10 years (Beginner & Intermediate Level GPDIA Qualified)
Richard is well used to helping people transition from other styles. Whether you are a beginner or more experienced WCS dancer, there will be something for everyone in Richard's class.
We are passionate about west coast swing and hope to grow the community in the area and support all clubs in the country.
West Coast Swing is a smooth, modern, and versatile partner dance that emphasizes connection, creativity, and musical interpretation. It's danced in a linear slot, allowing for elegant movements and intricate patterns between the leader and follower. Known for its adaptability, West Coast Swing can be danced to a wide variety of music genres, including blues, pop, R&B, funk, and contemporary hits.
You don't need to role balance for classes, but please encourage all roles to attend so we can get an equal spread. You don't need to book in advance but we encourage you to attend regularly to get the rhythm in your body's muscle memory. Flat shoes are advisable.

The classes will run on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month.
Doors open at 19:45
Fundamentals class at 20:00
Improver + class (must know basic 5 patterns) at 21:00
Fundamentals review in side room 21:00
Social Dancing 22:00 - 23:00
The price is £10 per session and can be paid by cash or card on the door.
