About this Event
Pinot Noir is the grape that made the Burgundy region of France famous. The wines there are usually named after the village or the vineyard, and they definitely transfer the taste of the place to the glass. This grape takes on a different personality on the West Coast of United States – specifically California and Oregon. While temperatures may be a bit higher, the producers here benefit from a strong Pacific Ocean influence, leading to cool nights and fog in key regions. This helps to preserve Pinot’s inherent acidity while bringing that beautiful ripe fruit to the front. We’ll visit some of the best “terroirs” of the west and see how Pinot Noir shows off its “New World” attire!
