About this Event
The West African Leadership Summit and Awards is an event organised by the West African Leadership & Empowerment Centre (WALEC).
It is a gathering of leaders, youth, change-makers, policymakers, scholars, influencers from across West Africa (and sometimes more broadly from Africa) with focus on leadership issues.
The summit includes panel discussions, keynote addresses, networking opportunities, workshops, and recognition via awards for people who have made positive impact in their fields and environment .
One of our main goal is to recognise and uplift emerging leaders who are doing important work in their communities across sectors like governance, education, health, innovation, tech, environment, youth empowerment etc.
We facilitate meaningful conversations on leadership, discussing the kinds of leadership West Africa needs, the challenges that leaders face (especially youth leaders), and how to address those. This is done through panels, workshops, etc.
