Wesley Hanna is an independent country singer-songwriter living in Fort Worth, Texas. He’s worn a lot of hats: whether that be a hardhat during his time as a roughneck and oilfield engineer – or the cowboy hat he dons as a showman and barroom poet. His honky-tonk repertoire has made him and his bandmates—Stacie Hanna (upright bass), Michael Durkan (fiddle), and Lance Will (drums)—a favorite in dancehalls and dives across the Lone Star State. The band blends neo-traditional country, Western Swing, and Texas swagger into sets that pay homage to the roots and rhythms of their home state.
Wesley’s musical journey began in Magnolia, Texas, when he received a guitar for his 17th birthday. While attending Texas A&M University, he formed the Wesley Hanna Band, playing across Bryan-College Station and recording the album Born to Honky Tonk in 2007. After the group disbanded in 2009, he stepped back from music to focus on his engineering career.
In 2022, Wesley reignited his passion for songwriting and returned to the Zone Recording Studio in Dripping Springs, TX, to cut his first solo album, Brand New Love Potion. The record earned praise for its authenticity and throwback country sound, with Kyle “Trigger” Coroneos of Saving Country Music writing, “This is one of those albums where some of the songs are so good, you would swear they must be covers.”

Wesley has since brought his music to life across Texas—from Fort Worth’s Stockyards to storied halls like London Hall and Luckenbach. In 2025, he released his new album, Magnolia, produced by Pat Manske and featuring contributions from several acclaimed Americana artists. The album includes “Gulf Prairie Blues,” an homage to Wesley’s Southeast Texas roots, and “Life in Three Quarter Time,” a heartfelt duet with Courtney Patton.
Wesley’s unique experiences as a lifelong Texan find a special place in the words of his songs.
