The Trip Co-Planners are Victoria F., Group Travel Coordinator & Travel Agent in Training, Brooke D., who specializes in Professional Hospitality Services for On Location, the Official Hospitality Partner for the Paris 2024 Games, and Regina D., who has been a French Teacher for over 30 years in the DC area, has been to France and several other French-speaking countries dozens of times, and is an authority and expert on French culture and on the French-speaking world.
Join us for a 7-night, 8-day getaway to Paris, France for the 2024 Summer Olympics! The travel dates for this trip are Monday, July 29th - Monday, August 5, 2024.
All members of Budget Travelers United, Conscious Blacks of The DMV, The DMV Socialites, and The DMV Singles are welcome to attend. Members can also bring family members, friends, & significant others.
*All expenses - including airfare, other modes of transportation, lodging, food, activities, and entertainment - are the sole financial responsibility of each traveler.
Day 1: Arrival & Group Dinner
Arrive in Paris and check into your hotel/Airbnb.
Head to the Eiffel Tower to take in the breathtaking views of Paris.
Group Dinner at a restaurant at or near the Eiffel Tower.
Day 2: Bus Tour, Louvre Museum & Paris Plages
Hop-on/Hop-off Rooftop Bus Tour of Paris
Visit the Louvre Museum to see the famous art collections, including the Mona Lisa.
Outdoor Fun at Paris Plages (swimming, sunbathing, rowboats, etc.)
Dinner near Paris Plages (Parc Rives de Seine, La Villette, or Trocadero)
Day 3: Versailles Palace & Nightlife in Marais
Take a day trip to the Palace of Versailles, right outside of Paris
Explore the stunning gardens and learn about the history of the palace.
Return to Paris for dinner and a night out in the Marais district.
Day 4: Sainte Chapelle, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, & the Latin Quarter
Visit the Sainte Chapelle to admire the breathtaking stained-glass windows.
Visit Notre Dame, currently undergoing reconstruction but still open to visitors.
Visit the top of the Eiffel Tower, then have dinner nearby
Spend the evening in the Latin Quarter, famous for its nightlife and literary history.
Day 5: Champs-Elysées, Arc de Triomphe, & Moulin Rouge
Walk the Champs-Elysées, one of the most famous shopping streets in the world.
Stop by the Arc de Triomphe and climb to the top for panoramic views of the city.
Moulin Rouge Dinner Show
Day 6: Montmartre & Sacré-Coeur
Start your day with a walk up to the top of Montmartre to see the iconic Sacré-Coeur Basilica.
Spend the rest of the day exploring the winding streets and picturesque cafes of Montmartre.
Enjoy dinner at a traditional Parisian brasserie in Montmartre.
Day 7: Musee d'Orsay & Seine River Dinner Cruise
Visit the Musee d'Orsay to see the collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art.
In the evening, take a dinner cruise on the Seine River to see the city lit up at night.
Enjoy your last night in Paris with drinks and live music in the lively Bastille neighborhood.
Day 8: Departure
Say goodbye to Paris and head to the airport for your flight home.
Note: This itinerary can be customized based on your interests and preferences. Also, it's important to book accommodation and activities well in advance, as Paris will be very busy during the Olympics. Some people from our group may also be attending Olympic sporting events during the trip.
