We're joining up with Pedal Ready for a guided bike tour along the cycle route from central Wellington to Island Bay.Build your confidence and skills to ride safely and efficiently by paihikara (bike), explore the latest cycleway improvements, and learn practical tips for night-time commuting. ๐ดโโ๏ธ
The ride starts and finishes at Switched On Bikes HQ near Waitangi Park, heading to Shorland Park in Island Bay. You are welcome to finish the ride at Shorland Park or ride back to Waitangi Park. Note: the event may be postponed in the case of adverse weather.
๐ Monday 8 December
โฐ 5.30pm - 7.30pm (arrive 30 minutes early if renting a bike)
๐ Meet at Switched on Bikes HQ, near Waitangi Park
๐ฐ Free event. E-bike hire available for $10.
These rides are suitable for people who:
โ Know how to ride a bike but aren't yet travelling by bike in the city; or
โ Those travelling by bike in the city but would like to gain confidence; or
โ Those who want to learn how to use new infrastructure.
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ Open to riders aged 18+ (or 13+ if accompanied by an adult). Families are also welcome to bring younger children on cargo bikes or bike seats provided themselves. Please enquire directly with Switched on Bikes if you'd like to borrow a bike seat for the tour.
