Come find calm in the forest! A slow guided walk for those who want to feel the healing benefits of being in nature.A wonderful way to find peace and calm in the New Year!
NATURE CONNECTION FOR EVERYONE
Big Heart Adventures is proud to introduce events for people of all abilities to join us for mindful nature connection time.
We respectfully acknowledge that our adventure is on Kaurna Land traditionally owned by the Kaurna People.
Experience a deeper connection with nature and be guided on a sensory journey with the land we walk upon. You are invited to feel the health benefits of being in nature while deepening our relationships with the earth and ourselves.
We include light refreshments and tea at the conclusion of our session (please let us know any dietary needs you may have).
Our leaders carry group first aid kits, emergency communication devices and are qualified bushwalking leaders, Nature Therapy Guides and practitioners in outdoor health.
WHO IS THIS EVENT SUITABLE FOR?
This event is ideal for everyone, including people recovering from injuries, accidents, illness or using mobility aids to get around or perhaps just not confident with being on trails without a leader or the company of others.
Minimum age requirement is 15 years old and must come with a supervising adult - please check with Lisa if unsure.
NEED TRANSPORT?
We also include optional private vehicle transport from Adelaide Railway Station departing 8.45am. Our bus is wheelchair friendly (up to 2 spots available for wheelchairs) bookable on a first come first serve basis plus seating for up to 10 people. Please see ticket options to book transport options if needed.
We return to the city for drop offs by the Adelaide Railway Station by 12.30pm.
You can also meet us at the entrance of Belair National Park if you have your own transport at 9.20am and follow us to our start point.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Due to the variability of the weather, the following items will be needed:- a small backpack or bag or carry items - filled water bottle - sun protection (hat, sunnies, suncream) or wet weather gear (we will check the forecast and remind you all what to expect!)- towel/blanket/yoga mat to lay on - comfortable walking shoes - warm layerable clothing as this we do sit/stand/lay for periods of up to 15 minutes - a journal or notepad if you like to draw or write - walking poles (optional)
ACCESSIBILITY NEEDS
Accessible toilets are available at the start and finish point.
Not all trails in Belair National Park are wheelchair friendly however we consider our location based on the needs of our group members. Please feel free to contact us to discuss your needs so we can plan our route accordingly (we have lots of options).
Support workers are welcome to join free to assist for Companion Card Holders, please let us know your needs at time of booking. You can also choose from ticket options that can include a support worker provided by us. 1:1 session and NDIS enquiries welcome.

CANCELLATIONS
Refunds are not available if cancelling 3 days or less however if we find someone to book your place we will refund you. If cancelling more than 3 days before the event 50% cancellation fees apply. If the weather forecast is for extreme weather or a fire ban is issue for the Adelaide Hills, this walk will be cancelled the day before and fully refunded. A rare same day cancellation may also occur if weather warnings or fire warnings are issued same day - we will always phone to cancel should this occur on the day of the event.
