12.15 – 13.00 Session 5: The art of the brilliance, Nikki Ayles HR Wellbeing Bouncebackability
Some may call it ‘resilience’ but we prefer ‘BOUNCEBACKABILITY’. Not only is it areal word, it’s also a modern-day superpower.
Change has always happened, but recently it’s got a whole lot faster and when life is rattling along at this speed, we need to be more psychologically resilient and adaptive than ever.
Whilst a lucky few seem hardwired to bounce back and grow in the face of adversity and setbacks, it doesn’t come automatically to most of us. The brilliant news is that BOUNCEBACKABILITY is a learned behaviour. We can all cultivate personal skills and resources which help us not just cope better with stress and adversity, but embrace change and use challenges as opportunities to grow.
BOUNCEBACKABILITY uses the latest thinking in areas of positive psychology, post-traumatic growth, CBT, growth mindsets, learned optimism and explanatory styles. The good news is that we’re careful to disguise these concepts and deliver a session that is thought-provoking and great fun.

13.00 –13.10 Closure: Wrap up and Thanks from CIPD Wales.

13.10 – 14.00 Lunch & Networking

Nikki Ayles, Art of Brilliance

Nikki’s career path has taken her on a journey through Marketing and Brand Management, Commercial Training, Coaching and L&D Consultancy, until more recently when she found her ‘calling’ – to help people flourish and become the best version of themselves. She’s now addicted to the warm glow she gets from inspiring and guiding people to spend more of their time in the 2% zone.

In addition to delivering a wicked Art of Being Brilliant session, Nikki’s specialist areas are Resilience, Strengths, Wellbeing Coaching and Mindfulness. For her, it all adds up to the same thing - helping people upgrade to ‘best possible self’.

Nikki’s proud to call herself a psychology nerd. She loves it! Psychology is her hobby and, as such, she’s accumulated quite a collection; MSc in Psychology, MSc in Positive Psychology (MAPP), she’s a Fellow of the Positive Psychology Guild and an Associate Member of the International Society for Coaching Psychologists. And guess what, she also gets to practise her hobby as a lecturer at the University of Worcester’s Psychology department. Nikki’s currently working towards the ultimate nerdy collectable, a PhD in Positive Psychology, researching the power of nature for wellbeing. There’s more. We could tell you that Nikki’s also a Master Strengths Coach (StrengthScope™) and a certified Mindfulness Teacher, but our word count is nearly up!

Outside of work, Nikki loves being out in nature with her slightly daft miniature Dachshunds, Paddington and Isabella. She enjoys throwing herself into new challenges (most recently surfing and SUP), distance running, devouring good books and spending quality time with friends and family.
