Two hundred and fifty years after its birth, does America live up to its founding ideals? “Well, I Declare: America at 250” examines this question through songs that contend with the nation’s history, often as a call for change. North Carolina musicians Dawn Landes, Rissi Palmer, Jacob Sharp (Mipso) and Django Haskins (The Old Ceremony) will present songs new and old that speak to generations of struggle alongside a live reading of the Declaration of Independence by actor Mike Wiley.
