increasing UK ‘defence’ spending to ever higher levels.

It is no coincidence the rush to ramp up military spending comes as the government launches fresh cuts to welfare and attacks on disabled people.
Every penny that goes on weapons of mass destruction, supplying
Israel with the technology it needs to carry out the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, or maintaining the Trident nuclear base in Faslane, is a penny that could be used to improve ordinary people’s lives.
Starmer’s push for an increase of over £6 billion per year to military spending could pay for:
• Thousands more doctors, nurses, hospitals and ambulances for the NHS
• Almost 40,000 new council homes
• Much needed funding for schools, colleges and universities
• Pay rises to cope with inflation and rising energy bills
