Join us once again for the highlight of our Society calendar, the 26th Annual Glasgow Botanic Gardens Orchid Fair.In collaboration with Glasgow City Council and the Friends of Glasgow Botanic Gardens, we warmly welcome orchid-lovers, gardeners, residents, and visitors to Glasgow, to come and experience the wonders of Nature's most intriguing and exotic flowers.
The Orchid Fair will be set in the beautiful and historic Kibble Palace, recently described by renowned BBC gardening broadcaster Monty Don as, "The best glasshouse experience in the world!"
Against the perfect tropical backdrop of the Gardens' National Collection of Australasian tree ferns, there will be flowering orchid displays by visiting orchid societies and the Scottish Orchid Society.
An exclusive Behind the Scenes Tour of the glasshouses will be led by the Gardens Orchid Propagator, Christine Nicholson (time to be confirmed). Places will be limited, and offered on a strictly 'first-come-first-served' basis, so be sure to head to the Scottish Orchid Society stand early to sign up!
Orchid plants and growing accessories will be on sale from reputable and ethical British orchid nurseries, including:
@BurnhamNurseries
@OrchidBotanics
@SpicesoticPlants
Of course, there will be plenty of orchid experts on hand to answer your questions about these beautiful plants and how to grow them!
...and more details to be confirmed.
Entry to the Glasgow Botanic Gardens, the Glasshouses and the Orchid Fair is all completely FREE OF CHARGE, so make a note in your diary and please come along to enjoy a truly tropical escape, right here in the heart of Glasgow's west end.
