Welcoming New Arrivals in the High Country
March 19–20, 2026 | Appalachian State University
This two-day gathering is designed to bring together community members, organizations, and higher-education partners committed to building more welcoming, connected, and inclusive communities in the High Country. Through a shared film screening, panel discussion, hands-on togetherness activities, and guided caucuses, participants will explore the experiences of immigrant and refugee communities and identify meaningful ways to collaborate, fill gaps, and strengthen local support systems.
