About this Event

Embark on a captivating tour of St John's Island, where history meets nature. From its past as a quarantine facility in 1868 to a holiday resort in 1975, experience the charm of its swimming lagoons, beaches, picnic grounds, and trekking routes. Hear tales of the former settlement there as we tour the village centre, quarantine centre, schools, water tank, and many more! Escape the city and indulge in the tranquil allure of St John's Island. It will be a day of sun, sand, sea and stories for all to enjoy!

    • 8.30-11.30am
  • Meeting and Ending Point:
    • Marina South Pier (31 Marina Coastal Dr Singapore 018988) - Holding area for Southern Island cruises
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before the event for registration. Our facilitators will be wearing our event t-shirt.
  • Limited parking is available at Marina South Pier. We would strongly encourage you to take the public transport.
  • Venue is not wheelchair accessible.
  • The event will proceed rain or shine.

Who should come?

  • Participants must be 13 years and above to participate.

What to bring?

  • Participants should bring along an umbrella, hand sanitisers, insect repellent, and a bottle of water.
  • Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably and wear covered shoes for hiking/trekking.
  • Participants are encouraged to bring their own earphones (with a standard 3.5mm audio jack) because we will be using radio guides for the tour!
  • Asthmatic individuals are encouraged to bring their inhaler.
  • Individuals with seasickness should carry their medicine along.

  • If you are feeling unwell or are unable to attend, please cancel your ticket. Registered participants who fail to turn up for any reason are required to pay My Community S$50. This is the true cost of the tour.
  • By agreeing to participate in the event, participants are responsible for any injury, loss or damage due to the negligence on his/her part or of the children under his/her charge.
  • Participants must abide by the house rules set out by the host. Facilitators will brief participants at the start of the programme.
  • Videos and photographs may also be taken during the event. By registering for this event, you give My Community full rights to use the photos for marketing and publicity.
