Join us for an exclusive kitchen garden tour of Welbeck’s Victorian Walled Garden. Various dates are available throughout Summer and Autumn.
This event gives you access to a rare behind-the-scenes tour with Head Gardener Steve Wright and his family, taking in the seasonal delights grown in the Welbeck Kitchen Garden, who provide produce sold exclusively at Welbeck Farm Shop and Harley Café.
Step through the Victorian Walled Garden, once the largest in the country, and learn about vegetables, herbs, salads, and edible flowers, picking up tips from Steve’s decades of experience, and learning about the importance and history of the gardens here at Welbeck.
As the tour ends, you will head back to The Harley Café, led by Head Chef James Armstrong, where you will sample some of the produce currently available from the garden, prepared by James and his team, who will be on hand to offer cooking advice.
Important Information
All tours start at 10 am, from the Farm Shop entrance.
The tour requires around 2 hours of standing and walking, with limited seating. The paths around the garden are uneven. Due to a significant step into the gardens and the uneven surfaces, it is not recommended for wheelchairs, pushchairs, or those with mobility issues. There is a 10-minute walk to and from the Farm Shop to the gardens.
Please come dressed appropriately, as things can get a little muddy in the Gardens, and the ground is often uneven underfoot. Outdoor walking footwear is advised, and, should we be lucky with the weather, sun cream and/or a hat, as there is no shade at all in the walled gardens.
If you have any food allergies or dietary requirements, please add this to the notes section during payment.
On arrival, please report to Welbeck Farm Shop. The walled garden is a 10-minute guided walk from The Courtyard at Welbeck, and the guide will lead you there.
Tickets are non-refundable.
