Catchball is a women's team sport that combines elements of volleyball and netball. It is played on a volleyball court with a volleyball. Instead of hitting the ball, players catch and throw it, aiming to land it in the other team's court. Each team can use up to three contacts, and the number of steps and the time holding the ball are limited.
Because catchball is less physically demanding and less technical than volleyball, it is an accessible option for women with a range of fitness levels and experience. Players can engage at their own pace.
Catchball also has a strong social focus, with teams often getting together for fun events. It’s a wonderful opportunity to exercise and make friends in a positive, inclusive environment.
Canterbury Catchball welcomes adult women who would like to try catchball at any point during the term. Our teams provide a beginner-friendly and positive environment both during practice and social time.
