Weekly EORC Cross Country Race at Ashley Reservoir, Holyoke

Timed, weekly Thursday evening 5K and 8K races consisting of dirt and gravel roads, circling scenic #AshleyReservoir in #Holyoke.
The race is open to the public and attracts runners of all abilities.
Age group records are kept and prizes are awarded weekly to winners in selected male and female categories.
Dogs and other domestic pets are strictly prohibited at Ashley Reservoir.

𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗦:
All races are 5K runs (3.1 miles) with the exception of 4/16, 5/21, 6/18, 7/16, 8/20, which are 8K (4.97 miles).
𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦:
Weekly runs are held each Thursday evening April 2–Sept. 25, with a friendly “Point Series” competition running from June 4–Aug. 20.

• 6:30 p.m. start from April 2–Aug. 27
• 6 p.m. start Sept. 3–Sept. 24 (to accommodate earlier sunsets)
𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡:
Weekly races are presented by Empire One Running Club and hosted at the Holyoke Elks (250 Whitney Ave.). Join us for refreshments inside the Elks following each race (all ages welcome; cash bar available for 21+ only).

𝗣𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗧 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗦 (6/4– 8/20)

Commencing on Thursday, June 4, 2026 the Empire One Running Club will conduct a 12 Week “Points” Race Series.
Prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female Finishers.
In addition, Prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female Age Division Finishers.
Points are scored as follows:
The First Place Finisher in each weekly race receives 1000 Points.
The remaining finishers receive points based on this formula:
Each competitor’s time is divided in to the First Place Finishers time and then that time is multiplied by 1000.
All weekly points are cumulative for twelve weeks and the competitors with the highest amount of points after twelve weeks, will determine our Awards Winners.
𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦𝗘 𝗗𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦:
Weekly races at Ashley Reservoir alternate starting locations (top of the hill near the Elks or bottom of the hill near the water’s edge) and running directions (“STRAIGHT” across the land bridge or to the “LEFT” along the water).
Below are the scheduled start locations (subject to change). Meet at the Holyoke Elks ahead of the start, and you can follow the crowd.
