About this Event
Community Corner is a service run by the NHS aiming to combat social isolation and help people to live well in their communities. Every week at Violet Melchett we run activities to promote health and wellbeing.
Chair-Based Yoga & Meditation for All Abilities:
Thanks to your feedback and high demand, we are launching an exciting new chair-based yoga and meditation class suitable for all abilities.
As much as possible this session will be run in the garden, so dress accordingly.
Join us for weekly movement and meditation:
- Mondays, 12:00 - 1:00pm
- At Violet Melchett Health and Wellbeing Hub
- Outdoors when the weather allows
Movement is something that benefits everyone - whatever your age, background, or ability. Even small amounts of gentle activity can:
- Improve circulation and mobility
- Ease stiffness in muscles and joints
- Boost mood and energy levels
- Support better sleep and reduce stress
This class combines gentle yoga-inspired movements with guided breathing and meditation, all supported by the use of a chair. It’s designed to be safe, inclusive, and enjoyable - leaving you feeling relaxed, refreshed, and uplifted.
We hope you’ll take what you learn and feel confident practising some of the exercises and meditations again at home.

The Community Corner team put a lot of effort into these events, alongside running a busy drop-in service. Whilst these sessions are free to attend, they are not free to run.
If you can no longer attend, please let us know in good time so that we can offer your space to someone else.
