About this Event
Expect to pick from a wide variety of secondhand fabrics to pair with your garment, then be led through the process of mapping out your patches with paper stencils,sewing them in, and refining your cutouts with your choice of distressed or stitched finishing! All supplies will be provided aside from your garment.
Garments with thick, tightly woven fabric, ie, cargo pants,hoodies, denim, work best.
Anfisa is a multidisciplinary artist and informal educator based in San Antonio, Texas. Their creative
mission is to inspire others and empower them to pursue autonomy and hope through cultivating their own
creativity. Working with a variety of mediums such as printmaking, sewing, ceramics, and stained glass,
Anfisa continually seeks new skills to explore the multifaceted nature of being human.
Sustainability and resourcefulness are central to their practice, and they are always finding innovative
ways to bring art to the people—encouraging others to see the world not just as it is, but as it could be.
When not teaching or creating, Anfisa can be found outdoors, volunteering with local organizations to
support at-risk community members, or dreaming up new ways to reinvent the ordinary.
