MATERIALS
All materials and tools are provided. Please bring an apron or work shirt and gloves to protect your hands from heat.
Yuri will discuss and demonstrate the fundamental process of steam-bending wood, from wood selection and preparation, to the actual bending and drying process. You will witness live demonstrations and practice free form bending without moulds using ash. Discover how to achieve stunning results without the need for a traditional steam box.
You’ll learn:
· Essential and applicable steam-bending knowledge
· Approaches to integrating organic curves into your woodworking creations
· Tips and tricks for success in steam-bending
This course is suitable for designers, sculptors and furniture makers with some foundational experience of working with wood or craft skills.
