Weekend Gardening Series: Why plant Wine Cap mushrooms?

Join us in person for a fun and laid-back session all about Wine Cap mushrooms! Discover why these fungi are a gardener’s new best friend — from boosting your garden’s health to adding a tasty twist to your harvest. Perfect for beginners and green thumbs alike. Come get your hands dirty and learn the secrets of successful mushroom planting!

This is a fall course we are offering this spring. We will be planting Wine Cap mushrooms at the Shimmering Void Zen Center Pathways. As the days warm up, we will get to see them grow in Julie's Garden and help feed the community. Wine Cap mushrooms are know for being a great garden mushroom and easy to cultivate in Zone 9B (Bakersfield, CA).

Each attendee will get a bag of mushroom starter to take home a replicate the process that we cover at our community garden.
