What is Fusion dance?
It is a contemporary (it first emerged in the 2000s) social partner dance, which combines different dance styles. In Fusion the emphasis is on musicality and partner connection rather than specific steps. Think of it as an improvisation in which the music gives you the prompts to have a duet/dance conversation with your partner. These two videos are great examples of Fusion dance:
In our lessons we will be teaching partner connection mainly through elements of other social dances to provide you with cool moves as tools for Fusion dance. After an intro lesson, each class may focus on one particular dance (style) to be integrated into Fusion dance. As usual, we will have a social dance following the lesson to practice, dance, and have fun!
