A stage playSYNOPSIS
In a quiet Akan village where sisterhood is sacred and marriage is survival, Asabea has always given everything to her younger sister Akosua - her clothes, her jewels, her dreams.
But when Akosua’s marriage is threatened by infertility, she asks for the ultimate sacrifice.
Under the direction of a powerful traditional priest, Asabea is told that only through her body can her sister bear a child. Torn between love and destiny, she agrees.
But when the child comes, gratitude turns to jealousy. Love turns to cruelty.
Betrayed by the very sister she saved, Asabea becomes a shadow in a house she built with her own blood.
And when silence can no longer hold her pain…
the gods will hear her cry.
This is a story of sacrifice.
This is a story of sisterhood.
This is a story of blood.
