Give yourself the low-pressure gift of artmaking time with other art lovers like yourself. Any level of ability is welcome! Beginners and accomplished artists alike are welcome at Wednesday Open Studio!
Wednesday Open Studio is for folks who need other people to hang out with while making something. We all give each other ideas, get to see what projects others are working on, and have a wonderful time visiting.
We meet at Rock 31, which has great after hours security. This means that I need to know you are coming, because I will lock the door at 5:40pm (we will be in a part of the building far from the front door and won’t know if you arrive late).
Because of this, YOU MUST BUY A TICKET BEFOREHAND SO I KNOW YOU ARE COMING! Click on the "Tickets" link in this event announcement to buy a ticket and let me know you are coming.
Street parking is free in the evenings. There is also a parking garage right behind the Rock 31 building on 2nd Avenue (not free).
These are zero-pressure informal evenings where adults who need creative time can join us in the Rock31 Builder Room, use some of my most basic supplies (paper, watercolor paint, pencils, colored pencils), and make things. There is no direct instruction during this time–just people hanging out with each other and the art supplies, being social, and making stuff.
If you have your own favorite supplies to work with, you are welcome to bring those if you like. I will have a weekly art prompt for those who need to prime the pump to get their creative juices flowing. However, no one is limited to working from that prompt. Everyone is free to do their own thing on Open Studio nights.
On any given night, the folks who join us for Open Studio are working on watercolor paintings, visual journal projects, collage, drawings, notecards, digital art, etc.
You welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages.
These are very informal evenings of art-making for people who need other people to hang out with. We create together and see where the muse takes us. This is play time! No talent or skill required. Just bring your good attitude and a spirit of generosity, curiosity, and follow your ideas wherever they take you. :-)
