For those who haven't fished with us before, here's a recap of what we do. It is a lures only catch and release format where you target a two fish combination of redfish, trout, or flounder. That doesn't mean bring in 2 reds - it means bring in 1 red and 1 trout, 1 red 1 flounder, or 1 flounder and 1 trout. You want to have 2 different species if possible but always bring your catch you never know… it’s a short tournament… The challenge is to catch 2 fish and a boat having 2 fish will always beat 1 fish even if it weighs more. In other words, a 7lb redfish doesn't beat a 3lb flounder/2lb trout combo.
We typically start at 5:30 sharp and fish until dark and try to stay on a schedule of having a tournament every other week. You're going to see a good mix of guys fishing everything from jon boats to bay boats so don't feel like you are limited by your vessel. Anybody can win and you would be surprised at how many times two really small fish have won - with the short time to fish it's really anybody's game because it only takes 2 bites. Please make sure your live wells are empty and no live, dead bait, cast nets etc are on board your vessel upon check-in to avoid disqualification. All fish must be of legal size,alive, and have a normal appearance to count…all dead fish will be assessed a 1lb penalty. This is a single or 2 adults event.. juniors ( under 16 ) are allowed to fish with an adult or 2 man team.
