Wednesday Night Skate Stamford is a weekly street skate that rolls out and brings a large pack of inline/quad skaters into Stamford’s streets during the evenings of our main outdoor season! Skaters meet just before rollout at pre-determined locations. The regular plan is to roll out around 8:00 PM, usually June through October, weather permitting. The route changes by week, but the format is consistent: a moderated city skate with regroup points, steady movement, and the feeling of skating Downtown Stamford at night with other skaters and rollers enjoying the fresh air and scenery.
Expect a moderately paced urban ride of roughly 3 miles over about an hour to two hours, finishing back at the starting point when the standard route is used. It is social, but it is not a beginner lesson; skaters should be comfortable stopping, turning, keeping pace with a group, and handling city-street conditions after dark.
Skaters, boarders and cyclists are encouraged to wear bright visible clothing, safety gear, utilize the streets bicycle lanes, obey all traffic rules and not obstruct traffic.
