Join me for my monthly jazz series at this awesome restaurant. The food is delicious and homemade; there's a small parking lot (but get there early to secure your spot); and no cover. Reservations are strongly recommended! But if you decide to come last minute, just pop by. We'll have room for you! Note: This is the O'Brien's near Trainyards! This month with Andre Van Schyndel & Ed Stevens!Ed and Andre have known each other for some 35 years and they have explored much variety in music and craft beers over that time.
In his teens, Ed studied violin and guitar, then worked as a violinist for 10 years before moving into a second career in information systems. Ed picked up the guitar again in 2006, and has been performing since then with ensembles ranging from duos to big bands. He continues to draw on stylistic influences from classical, jazz, rock, blues, folk, and world music, and will happily collaborate with anyone who offers free drinks.
Andre’s been playing and singing for fun and professionally since grade school. Classical, Folk and Celtic music on voice, accordion, guitar and bass have always been a strong interest but in more recent times, he’s focused increasingly on jazz. Now a retired scientist with a love of cooking and a respectable recording studio hidden in the basement, he’s very pleased to join Ed in backing Betty Ann’s lovely vocals for this evening.
