Wednesday New Works NightA Weekly Space for Writers, Actors, and New Work
Join us every Wednesday from 6:00–9:00 PM for an open creative development space welcoming writers, playwrights, actors, and anyone interested in new work.
6:00–7:30 PM — Silent Writing / Creative Work Time
Bring your laptop, notebook, script, manuscript, poetry, prose, or any other creative project and enjoy a focused, supportive environment to write and create.
7:30–9:00 PM — Informal Cold Readings
Actors join for casual readings of new work created or developed by attendees.
Reading Sign-Ups:
Writers who attend the silent writing portion may sign up for readings at the start of the session. Readings are first come, first served for up to 5 pieces per night, with excerpts limited to 10 minutes or less. Participation in readings is optional.
While all forms of creative writing are welcome, special emphasis will be placed on playwriting and work intended for performance.
For Actors:
Actors are invited to join during the reading portion from 7:30–9:00 PM. Readings will be informal, cold-read style, so no preparation is required. Actors may be asked to read excerpts from new scripts, scenes, monologues, or other performance-based writing submitted by the writers present that evening. This is a low-pressure space to practice cold reading, support local writers, and help new work come alive in the room.
