BODEGAS MUGA! Founded in 1932 in in the historic Barrio de La Estación (Station Quarter) of Haro, in the heart of Spain's Rioja region! Did you know not every Rioja Wine is the same? Much like Scottish Haggis, it all depends where it came from!!
Rioja Wines reflect the three distinct sub-regions ( Alta, Alavesa, Oriental) with unique climates/soils, the range of permitted grape varieties (Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano, etc.), and the aging classification system (Joven, Crianza, Reserva, Gran Reserva) There are both Reds & Whites.
Check out the video clip above and hear directly from the third generation of the Muga Family that are involved across the entire winery. They are concerned enough with quality that uniquely they have their own Cooperage or Barrel building shop using both Spanish & American oak, even toasting some too!.
Considering the all encompassing Regional name, we think you will be very well served to learn more about these very approachable wines at the entry level and the intensive artistry that is involved in their more limited vintage bottlings.
