About this Event
Inspired by the works of famous abstract expressionists, Joan Mitchell and Helen Frankenthaler, we will embark on a journey of loose, organic shapes and energetic colors.
We will be learning about these female pioneers of abstract expressionism and their revolutionary methods of creating modern abstracts. We will emulate the bold, gestural marks of Mitchell and the organic, flowing color fields of Frankenthaler…both loose and layered.
Students will walk away with two medium to large paintings, as well as several practice works on paper.
