Webinar: The role of faith leaders in peace-building
Interfaith Harmony Week is observed each year during the first week of February after it was first suggested by King Abdullah II of Jordan to the United Nations 15 years ago and adopted by the UN General Assembly. During this week, various governments, NGOs, faith leaders and others use this week to promote goodwill and harmony between different religions.
Therefore, The London Story, together with the Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC) convene faith leaders from across the world to share their experiences using their roles to address religiously charged conflicts in their communities. They will speak on their experiences, the conflicts they face(d) in their local settings, and the continued challenges to interfaith harmony there. We also invite academics and members of civil society to discuss challenges to interfaith harmony and the complex threats posed to freedom of religion or belief if various contexts. The event ends with a round of Q&A from the audience.
All are welcome; the choice of timing and format was made consciously to accomodate a diverse audience with different experiences with religiously motivated or inflamed conflicts, peace-building, and interfaith dialogue. Are these topics of interest to you? Please join and share with others! A recording will also be made available after the event.
Please use a valid email to register, we will be sending the link to join by email! Speakers to be announced shortly.
