About this Event
Weaving with Found Objects
You don't need a special loom to make a weaving– ordinary objects from around the house or materials from nature can be transformed into imaginative expressions in fiber! Join mixed-media artist Jasmine Valandani for a free workshop in weaving basics through material exploration. No experience necessary! Materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring an object to weave on: anything that can be wrapped with fiber! Old picture frames, seashells, branches, broken pottery… the possibilities are endless. Feel free to contribute fibers to share, such as yarn, ribbon, recycled clothing strips, paper, and plant materials. Suitable for ages 6 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
