Weaving Together
Learn the basics of weaving on your very own loom to keep! In this workshop, you'll discover how to prepare your loom, master approachable weaving techniques, and finish your piece beautifully. It's a perfect opportunity to slow down, connect, and get creative!
TIMES: 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM PST and 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM PST
LENGTH: 1.5 hours
LOCATION: Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your workshop time to allow time to check-in. The check-in tent is located on the east side of Strathcona Park.
AGES: Youth/Adults (ages 12 and up), Suitable for beginners and up!
PRICE: $35 per person per workshop
ACCESSIBILITY: The event site is on grass, gravel, and uneven terrain, there is no ramp access to the park. The open-air work setting will have ambient noise, conversational sound levels, and loud areas with the noise of food truck generators. There's a wheelchair-accessible portable washroom on site. We will communicate verbally with members of the public using listening and spoken language in English. Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs.
About the Artist
Nicole Caspillo is a multi-disciplinary (Fibre, Ceramics, Sound) artist, trained Expressive Arts Therapist and Chef who lives and works in East Vancouver. Being of Filipino descent, spending her childhood in Malaysia, living in the PNW, and traveling have influenced her creative process. Nicole is inspired by nature, passionate about connecting with others in community, and empowering the artist in everyone through art.
~~~ In addition to participating in this workshop, your ticket grants you access to our General Admission Create! Art Zone at Strathcona Park on July 27th from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Art Zone features multiple drop-in public art activities, access to the Festival Art Shop, a beer garden, food trucks, and live music presented in partnership with Light Organ Records & 604 Records. To enter the Art Zone, simply show your workshop ticket.~~~~

If you would like to cancel your attendance, we will offer you a refund, provided that you inform us at least 4 days prior to the scheduled event.
