This one-day class focuses on dying Bamboo Pop (50% cotton 50% bamboo) yarn for future handwoven projects! Students will wind warps on warping boards and wind skeins on swifts. From there class will shift to mixing fiber reactive days. The dyes will be used for hand painting the fiber and immersion dying. Hand dying yarn is a wonderful way to add a little something extra to your handwovens! Please wear clothing you don’t mind potentially getting dye on. Also, please bring an apron and rubber gloves. This class will not include any weaving. If you would like to come in and set up your looms with your beautiful hand dyed yarns please register for the Weaving Group on November 19th.Workshops will be led by Sara Goldenberg White, who has taught weaving along the Front Range for over a decade. Her passion for weaving and teaching started during her graduate study at Colorado State University. She teaches a variety of fiber techniques but sharing her love of weaving with others is one of her greatest joys. Sara coauthored Simple Woven Garments: 20+ Projects to Weave and Wear with Jane Patrick. Sara also has a lively fine arts practice and has exhibited her work at museums and galleries throughout the country. Sara enjoys the balance of creating her work and sharing her love of weaving in the classroom. She looks forward to seeing you there!
