About this Event
With the Super Bowl Week of Action to protect our immigrant communities, the General Strike to stand with our working class families, and the No Kings protest to show collective power, we have to ask-- what happens after the protest?
It's organizing! We are launching a canvassing program to train everyday folks how to canvass, activate, and engage community members in local actions and programs.
In this short program, we are hosting virtual phone banks and in-person door-knocking events to meet people where they are at and bring the local actions to their phones and door steps.
What is canvassing?
Canvassing is form of grassroots organizing where organizations knock door to door to spread awareness about issues that affect their community. By canvassing in person, we aim to build and strengthen connections with our neighbors to understand what problems they care about so they can feel empowered to do something about it.
What to Expect:
- Do outreach with LEAD Filipino
- Practice community-based messaging to talk about local issues impacting our neighbors
- Walk and talk with community organizers
- Sign off on volunteer hours
No experience is required! We will train you to have fruitful conversations and stay safe on the streets!
Check out the schedule below!
You can sign up for multiple shifts at a time, so once you have registered for the training, please sign up for a phonebanking or door-knocking shift as well!
