Im Zelt befindet sich ein kleineres Zelt und in diesem kleineren Zelt sitzt ein kleiner Junge. Er hat einen weiten Weg hinter sich und war fast immer alleine unterwegs. Er kann zeigen, was er mitgenommen hat, erklären, wieso er sich auf diese Reise begeben hat und kann genau beschreiben, wo er schon überall war. Doch wie seine Geschichte enden wird, das weiß er nicht…
In We Come from Far, Far Away geht es um die Geschichte zweier Jungs aus Aleppo, die Europa durchqueren, um nach Norwegen zu gelangen. Auf ihrer Reise durch die Türkei, Griechenland und Mazedonien in Richtung Oslo teilen sie Geschichten: Geschichten über Menschen, Gegenstände, Orte, an denen sie gewesen sind, aber auch über Leben und Tod.
Mit ihrer Performance, die Musik, Storytelling, Clownerie, Schattenspiel und die symbolische Präsenz einer mongolischen Jurte kombiniert, erzählen NIE eine berührende und nachklingende Geschichte über die Suche nach einem Zufluchtsort.

Inside the tent is a smaller tent, and in that smaller tent sits a young boy. He has come a long way, mostly on his own. He can show what he took with him, explain why he set out on his journey, and he can perfectly describe where he travelled, but how his story will end, he cannot say…
The performance We Come from Far, Far Away tells a story about two young boys from Aleppo travelling across Europe to Norway. Against the backdrop of a journey through Turkey, Greece, Macedonia, and onwards to Oslo, they share stories about people, things and places they’ve seen, but also about life and death.
Combining live music, storytelling, clowning, shadow theatre and the symbolic presence of a Mongolian yurt, NIE crafts a deeply resonant narrative about seeking refuge.
