Objectives for a typical, "We Can Disagree" event
Many Americans yearn for a path thru constructive disagreement that strengthens relationships and increases understanding of complex problems.
1- Demonstrate that we CAN have civil dialogue about difficult topics, and that there are lots of other Americans who would like to build understanding rather than division.
2- Equip participants to constructively engage fellow citizens in discussing and resolving difficult topics.
3- See that we can take a step toward collaborative understanding. We know that democracy is rooted in constructive disagreement. And we know we're not that good at it! This event is like a disagreement-gymnasium.
4- Admission is free, Dinner provided.
