About this Event
We are back with our Summer community gathering .
These seasonal gatherings are a chance for local community to come togther and share updates and stories.
These will change in topic and theme each season but aim to include the following:
Inspiration - from guests and featured projects
Stories - updates from project, the river and the wider community
Participation - invitations to particpate in discussion, dialogue and collective intelligence gathering
Action - exploring ways to get involved
The Theme for this session is River Guardianship
We are inviting community groups, existing and new, to ‘adopt’ a section of river, to build a regional watershed movement for regeneration. With Guardian Groups along the whole river Avon
This event will combine short talks on Rights of the River Avon, River Guardianship stories to learn from with interactive sessions and community participation
All Ages Welcome
We will be updating on the project progress, sharing some stories of recent initiatives, opening up the space for participation from the community and sharing more ways to get involved and take action
Join us for an inspiring evening exploring river action, community led responses to the climate crisis and bioregional regeneration in the Avon Valley.
This is an open event for anyone interested in the health and futures of our land, river and local ecosystems.
For those curious about local river and environmental action, and to discover and discuss different ways to get involved in bringing life back to the places we call home.
The evening is hosted by Dan Burgess, Spaceship Earth and Hamish Evans from Middleground Growers - with guests talks from:
Elena Blanco & Christian Heredia - Researchers on Rights of the River Avon Project (UWE)
Gemma Annan - WaterSpace Officer Bath River Line Project
This event is co-hosted by We Are Avon and The Spaceship Earth in collaboration with Finisterre.
All ticket donations will go towards the We Are Avon project operation costs
This is the second of ongoing community gatherings for the We Are Avon project hosted at Finisterre Bath Store on a seasonal basis every 3 months.
