Join us to our Ballet Basic Technique's Workshop!
When: Sunday, July 7th from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Where: MOVATI MOVE STUDIO
This 2 hour workshop introduces the basic ballet skills found in a regular Barre Flow class and is intended to develop confidence as well as a Barre Flow foundation in a learning, active and fun environment.
Participants will learn the basics and practice them, both at the barre and in the center.
This workshop is intended to diminish any intimidation of being a 'non dancer' entering a Barre Flow class, as well as provide the opportunity for all levels to improve technique. The workshop format will start with feet and plie warm up, exercises at the barre (tendu, battement, rond de jamb, etc), and lead into exercises in the center (pas de bourree, pas de chat, bourree, turns). Next, the class will learn simple combos connecting the exercises and end with a mobility stretch to cool down.
About the Instructor Sherry Keast:
Sherry Keast is a dancer, with a diploma in Dance Performance from Grant MacEwan and Duke University. Sherry became a fitness instructor later in life, teaching cardio box and barre and finding a love of fitness through music and movement. Teaching at Movati brought the dancing and fitness together. Sherry teaches Aerial Hoop, Bungee Workout, Barre Flow and Anti-Gravity Fitness and restorative. Sherry’s passion is creating choreography for hoop, bungee, and dance utilizing all dance styles.
