About this Event
2026 marks 115 years of collective action and advocacy for gender equality, with Australia's first International Women’s Day held in Sydney in 1928, which called for equal pay and conditions.
The Women’s Defence Connection was formed to continue the tradition by fostering diversity and equality in the defence industry, creating a supportive networking group open to all.
To celebrate International Women’s Day 2026, we invite you to join us in person to honour women's achievements and empower one another at WDC's third annual IWD Luncheon.
Held in the beautiful surrounds of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne, this event is a great opportunity to meet and mix with industry peers, hear from an inspirational keynote speaker, and enjoy a delicious two-course lunch and a glass of welcome bubbles.
Food & Drink:
A glass of bubbles on arrival
Two-course sit-down meal
Keynote Speaker:
MAJ Liz Daley, PhD
Passionate advocate for female veterans
While International Women’s Day is a celebration of women’s achievements, gender equity is a journey we’re all on together. We warmly invite our male colleagues to join the conversation as allies, listeners, and partners in change.
This event is always great fun and well attended. Tickets sell out fast, so grab one for yourself and some for your friends.
Let's all come together to uplift and support women everywhere!
We hope to see you there!
