This January 11th Wax’o Paradiso is ushering in the fresh year with our biggest Open Air of the season, a jubilant return to the luscious natural amphitheatre of the Abbotsford Convent’s Heritage gardens. For another year we’ll be firing up Naarm’s most psychedelic pergola and inviting some musical pals from near and far!
Presenting:
Belfast-born, Berlin-based DJ Sally C is nothing but an unstoppable force of big basslines and positive energy. A tireless contributor to the world of electronic music, her buy-on-sight label Big Saldo’s Chunkers has been responsible for some of the most anthemic heaters of recent years, putting out top-notch tunes which effortlessly nod to house music traditions whilst being firmly rooted in the here and now. As a DJ Big Saldo has brought her raw and bumping signature style to the most legendary clubs and festivals around the world, and to top it all off she’s one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet and we’re downright blessed to have her join us this year!
When we think of community the name Richard Akingbehin comes to mind. The co-founder of Refuge Worldwide, Berlin’s forefront online community radio station, has been fostering connections around the globe via music and discourse with impeccably humble steeze. A truly versatile and talented deejay in his own right, Richard also runs the Kynant records imprint, which boasts an impressive catalogue of deeper, dubby sounds as quality as it is varied.
This year's live act will be a debut new collaboration between two producers very dear to the Wax’o Paradiso family. Both Guy Contact and Solar Suite may be known for more powerful club fodder across the progressive and trance adjacent sides of the genre spectrum, but sharing a studio has seen them trading a few BPMs for a spacious, textural and absolutely stunning new sound, and rumour has it that there’s a vinyl pressing in the works too, so watch this space!
As always impeccable vibes and energy will be held by our pals at Vollyspot.
