Have you ever wanted to learn how to make tamales at home? Now is your chance! We are partnering with our friends at Mi Pueblo for a hands-on tamale making course on Sunday, February 2 from 12pm-3pm. As part of the package they will be offering a taco bar from 12pm-1pm (including pork and steak tacos, rice, beans, chips/salsa, and red and green sauces). The tamale making course will run from 1pm-3pm, and you will go home with three tamales (pork, chicken, and a dessert tamale) to take with you to cook at home. The package also includes your first beer.
Our friend/neighbor and owner of Mi Pueblo will be your host and instructor for the tamale making class. He will be giving a brief history of the tamale and an introduction to the origins of the rich tradition of tamales in the Mexican culture. His family-owned business has been putting out some of the best Mexican food in Kalamazoo for the last 10+ years. We are excited to share their process and great food!
